Important:
Please ensure that Windows display settings are set to 100% scaling under 'Display' before starting the application.
This demo application has been designed with a focus on extensive use in classrooms. The hardware-requirements are lower, compared to the VR version. Allowing even lower-performance laptops (from GeForce 1060) to access this new form of knowledge delivery. Operating the application only requires the use of standard input devices such as a mouse and a keyboard.
To make the operation as intuitive as possible and to enable two-handed work as in reality, we have adopted the following approach:
The left hand is simulated by the left mouse button, and the right hand is simulated by the right mouse button.
For example, when you grab the screw drill with the left hand (the left mouse button), you can remove or place objects with the right hand (the right mouse button), and vice versa.

Main Menu
In the main menu, you begin with entering your name or ID number.
By pressing the 'Start Training' button, you will enter the training selection.
The upper selection pertains to the subject area, while the lower selection represents the individual learning modules.
Once a learning module has been selected using the arrow keys,
you can start the training by clicking on 'Start Training Module.'
Once you are in the application, you will be welcomed by our virtual assistant, represented in the form of an iPad. It will show you the first task to be performed. In some situations, the iPad may automatically appear in the user's field of view when specific stations are reached.
In such cases, it is mandatory to read or view all pages of the displayed content before the iPad can be closed by pressing the 'T' key again or by clicking on the 'Home' button with the mouse.
Aim the crosshair at the torque wrench and grab it with the left mouse button.
Move to the chassis and align the crosshair with the screws marked with an arrow.
> The screw drill will automatically align with the screw. Now, press and hold the right mouse button until the screw is removed and appears in your right hand.
Place the screw on an empty space on the table by right-clicking.
In later stages, it will be necessary to change the attachment of the green screw drill.
If it is in your left hand (clicked with the left mouse button), press and hold the left mouse button to access the drill's menu.
Use the mouse pointer to select the appropriate attachment and size. Another left-click will close the menu.
You can use the wrench in the same way as other tools. Move the crosshair over the screw to be removed and wait for the wrench to position itself. Then, hold down the right mouse button to unscrew the screw.
Upon completing the training, the current training progress can be saved by clicking the 'Save' button. This applies to both, the VR and desktop versions.
Clicking the 'Save & End Training' button will automatically generate an HTML page with the training evaluation in the directory \VRmacher_Desktop_Edition\VRMacher_Toolset_2_1\Website\index.html.
Once all modules are successfully completed, you can generate a participation certificate by selecting your name from the dropdown and clicking the 'Print' button."
